Is there any training arc here? The protagonist just straight up getting powers at random chapters with almost no sense or any explanation at all so I was wondering if there was any kind of plot development where his progress is shown

Bruh come on… not everyone watches anime then look for the source. I read eis way back it was not even completed and left it to stack and reread it a lot later. But i get you though.. But me personally don’t like anime adaptation of novels or even manga as I don’t get think they can ever portray thousands of word in a few minutes of episodes ( there is alot of content that is cut off)

That's kind of the point of anime, they work as source material sellers sometimes

Ngl, no one called it "Eminence in the shadows" because on novelupdates its called "to be a power in the shadows". The WN was on front page and i bet alot of people read it, I sure did. If your gonna gatekeep... just rethink posting.

Considering the plethora of novels that come out of Japan and my lack of understanding of any other language not English, finding all the good novels, sifting through all the trash or hoping to find the translation group is all just RNG. And my RNG is average. I find some good ones before Anime/Manga adaptions, I find some after. The main point is hopefully I do end up finding them regardless of how. But I question why it matters how one finds good novels when any positive support is good support? Well, except us reading on websites like this one that just copy/pastes from everyone and does no translation themselves but earning profit off others hard work.

Read both of it before their anime adaptations.

I didn't read onk, i found about it on random too, and i did give it a try, went in frst chap but gave up instantly since i didn't feel like it (i didn't feel like reading anything that time so i dropped everything and took a break). And i never picked it up again since i saw anime announcement and decided just to wait for it. It was hard to stay strong but it was worth it, that frst ep was peak.

? Oshi no Ko was pretty popular before its anime adaptation. Even Garnt mentioned the manga on TT after dark. I coincidentally started reading like a day before the stream was posted on yt 💀 As for EiS I read the manga a while back (maybe a year I don’t remember). I found it kinda cringe. I mean Ik ur not supposed to take it seriously but it was a pain to get through, for me at least.

I know it was popular, but now that some retarded anime onlys and some others gave it a chance, and they are now d*ck riding it as if it's them that wrote it and the fame got them in head. Thats rather hateful you know? Personally for eis i liked it right since start.

I personally think it’s mostly just recency bias. Generally anime is way more popular than manga and light novels. Most people’s first experience of this story is probably through the medium of anime which has a more of a broader community I’d say, especially on Reddit. And because of that ur seeing more meat riders Ig. Just give it a few more months and ur def gonna see it die down.

That's nice. As for me I've found out about manga long time ago completely random on some site i read, but never got into ln since im reading tbate and cote. And while i do love that its popular and all now, i still hate the d*ck riders that will hate on everything else for no reason. Like lotm fanboys (biggest d*ck riders i ever saw).

What I liked about Eminence in shadow was that Cid was an unhinged mf. This man ain't it. He isn't goody two shoes or a yes man but he lacks the enjoyability that Cid gives. If you have read Eminence in shadow, you just can't help but to compare. But if you havent, then it is quite enjoyable (if you don't think too deeply about it).

Would you recommend this novel? Out of 1-10 how much would you rate it?

It's pretty generic. I wouldn't really recommend this unless you have nothing to read so 5/10

I would rate 8 beacause there a lot of heroines MC doesn’t interest anyone. So it’s -2 for me. But you can enjoy smart and op MC not typical dumb Japanese MC so I will rate 8 for this part. 😁

Bro what are you on about, this mc is literally a stereotypical d*mb*ss japanese loser, a Walmart version of Eminence in Shadow. And thats without even mentioning the translation, sh*ts worse despite having someone thats supposedly fine tuning after mtl; theres pure mtl versions out there that make wayyy more sense than this cr*p.

I have like 30 reviews as of right now, I'm not farming and only reviewing novels I've already reviewed in the past. Of course, I also read all of them and I still miss many other novels to give reviews to.
