    The "ruthless, evil, cunning, emperor cultivator" MC already died at chapter 37 while playing around with some low cultivation gnat, except some dude unexpectedly came out to save him (like the MC literally closed his eyes and waited for death) —this is the kind of idiotic main character you'll be following. He dies again like 15 chapters later and is deus ex machina'd once more. MC is forced to drag 2 annoying kids around for no reason other than the author wanting it to happen. In ch. 42 he is literally in a "bento-box-between-two-girls" scenario straight out of a cheesy anime; the romance in general is extremely childish. Every attack is shouted out like "Second tier martial skill, Thunder Skies Punch!" as tends to happen in most terrible cultivation stories, because that's how smart people fight. General character depth and interactions are pathetic at best. Awful writer.

    Can anyone recommended a novel on the level Demonic Steward, preferably one with adapted material, I'm s*ck*r for imagining character faces. If none comes to mind, recommend those except Shadow slave (stopped after forgotten shore arch, was too drained 😅)

        Go back to Shadow Slave after a break, the Second Nightmare was great. God of Slaughter is the closest I’ve found to Demonic Sword. It’s good, but not as good.

      bro no ew. Sure he has alot of girls falling for him and while some of them were important freinds and family for him. But no he doesn't actually create a harem at all. infact his "love life" or lack thereof is a very important aspect of his dao/character development. Overall amazing manhua, i recommend first going through the manhua and then come and continue the story through the ln

        But there are harem tag in this story, is it not true? I was planning to read this, but when I saw the HAREM# I gave up right away. I don like harem story at all, it's always so annoying. It's so hard to find a good cultivation novel without harem. Ps. I just wonder why most of the cultivation novels have harem, are they trying to prove that the ML is not man if he doesn't have 100 women fond over him? It's just ridiculous.

        I wonder the same as well, even with the fairly good novels. LIke i just closed a novel i was reading (Divine emperor of death) yesterday after reading like 1700 Chs or so due to this. Was already being dissastisfied by how he seemed to be breaking his own rules/morals in regards to love over and iver again and finally there came a scene which while yes it again breaking but since the author was seemingly spending alot of time on the buld up to the decision so i expected something good and realistic and while he did do it again it seemed reaslistc but then the author just did something right at that moment and it was just too much for me

        Don't worry there's nothing like that. to quote one of the smartest people in this novel "All of them seem to have a crush on him but he doesn't look at them". So yeah there is no harem at all, obviously there are girls who fell for him and some of them he cares about as family or others he ignores, point being it's nothing like that harem sh*t u see in other novels and if anything the romance elements here are subtle and actually very well tied to MCs character development. Anyways...READ IT. trust me it's an amazing novel, personally i started with the manhua, caught up to it at CH 250 or so and then read the novel from there. The novel is amazing and u won't regret. It's very well written
